FREE FOOD

OUR WORK WITH FOOD

We call it STOREHOUSE, our 100% mobile Free Food Program for families and individuals experiencing difficulty in keeping an adequate food supply in their homes. We serve everyone, regardless of age, gender, religion, ethnicity, or socio-economic group. No strings attached!

Frequently Asked Questions

about our Food Program…

  • Currently, our Food Program is not open to the public. We exclusively work with other entities to serve and support their residents.

  • Not at this time. Currently we refer individuals in need of hot meals to some of our beloved partner-organizations around the area.

  • We are always in need of unopened nonperishable food items.

    • Pasta/Rice/Mac 'n Cheese.

    • Pasta Sauce.

    • Peanut Butter & Jelly.

    • Instant Mashed Potatoes.

    • Breakfast foods.

    • Canned veggies/fruits.

    • Bottled Water.

    • Coffee/Tea.

  • Our food donations come from local grocery stores, individuals, businesses, churches, and other organizations.

  • Although we operate similarly to Food Bank/Pantry, we are not. Since our Free Food Program is 100% mobile, we do not store food in our program space. We are best thought of as a Free Food Distributor, working on behalf of our wonderful donors.

  • There is no cost or requirements. Because we work exclusively with other entities, our approach is a 'no strings attached and no questions asked' for the households who benefit from our Free Food Program.

WHAT WE’RE DOING

Weekly distribution of free groceries around Greater Waterbury to individuals and families in need. We work with low-income apartment/housing entities, local organizations, and other non-profits to get food to households who need it the most.

Monthly outreach events distribute free pantry bags to local households, especially those with senior citizens experiencing adverse health ailments, disabilities, and financial hardship.

WHY WE DO IT…

…Because more food on the shelves at home means more money to spend on bills and other costs of living, increasing the quality of life for local residents in our community.

…Because God loves everyone and cares about their needs.

…Because No one should be hungry or struggle with food instability.

…Because Good food shouldn’t be wasted when we can get it to the people who need it most.

HOW WE’RE DOING…

Progress means impact. We track every pound of food received and distribute throughout the Greater Waterbury Area so that we can keep our partners and donors up-to-date on how they’re making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
